I mooch Prime off of a friend Can't possibly count. In a theater? Maybe 10-15? Less regularly than I do movies after 1970. Some of my faves are older films though like the Maltese Falcon, Seven Samurai, and Patton Less often I never bothered to make a note of that. Couldn't put a number on it. I liked parts of it. Everything with Luke/Rey/Ren I liked a lot. The Resistance and Canto Bight plot was a mess. I believe in auteur theory wholeheartedly No specific favorite genre. I suppose romance or musicals would fall under my least favorite genres. I think you're more likely to encounter better storytelling and character arcs in television than you are in theaters these days, yes. No. Villeneuve may get there if he keeps this streak up though. I'd say if he can nail Dune he'll be in the running. Yes. The best movies imo are movies that exemplify the best of the art of film. My favorite movies may not be the best examples of film, but they're the movies that entertain me the most. But around June, I slowed the fuck down on watching so many movies all the time. So by the end of this year, it'll probably be around 200. How many times do you go to the theater to see a movie every year? Probably about 20-25. How often do you watch movies made before 1970? I get in a few of those during my monthly happenings. How often do you watch non-English language films? Not too often, but I don't care about language as much over whether the movie interests me. How often do you watch movies with a female lead? I don't count this, but if I had to guess, it'd be 30%. Did you like The Last Jedi? Didn't see it, I'm not a Star Wars guy. Are you a subscriber to the auteur theory? sure, why not. How many movies do you think you see every year? Way too much. I don't know, maybe 200+ How many times do you go to the theater to see a movie every year? A lot. Maybe 5+ times a month. How often do you watch movies made before 1970? Not often. How often do you watch non-English language films? Pretty often. I watch a lot of foreign films. How often do you watch movies with a female lead? Often, I guess. I don't care as long as the movie interest me in some way. Did you like The Last Jedi? It was eh. I didn't hate it like the internet seem to, but I didn't think it was great or anything either. It was fine. Are you a subscriber to the auteur theory? Sure. I like it when directors have their own particular style that people can pick up on. Do you have a favorite movie genre or least favorite movie genre? Not really. I'm fine with anything as long as they pull off whatever it is they're going for. Though, I feel like comedy, even in small doses, doesn't hurt for most things. Is television better than movies these days? That's really subjective. Television is much better than it used to be, I'll say that. I much prefer movies, personally. Is your favorite director one of Chris Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, or David Fincher? Of the ones listed here; Tarantino and Villeneuve are my favorite. Do you differentiate between best movie and favorite movies? Yes. What are your five favorite movies?
