I mean, I never 100%ed it on my original file (not even close), but I did the 4 Divine Beasts and final boss, and maybe 90 of the Shrines, to say nothing of wandering over a lot of the map. I'm still finding new stuff, though. I've been exploring the Hebra Mountains recently - which is a great region, with that feeling of vastness and desolation - and have found several new Korok Seeds, and also a Shrine I wasn't able to get to.

So much fun to play this game. I think it's still probably the best Switch game so far.

Why not 100% it?

Also, it's a Wii U game.

It's both.

And because that would be very long, and in a lot of ways, not fun. I mean, the main thing would be getting all those Korok Seeds, which would be extremely hard without a guide, and probably boring with a guide.

You know, it's funny about that Shrine I found, I could see it through a crack in a wall, but I couldn't find any proper opening. I sailed about the river for a bit, but nothing. I did find a fire brand in the area, though. :D

I remember that shrine. Took me a while to find the way in.

I explored the Hebra Mountain area long before I had any serious protection from the cold, just the shirt you get at the start and spicy peppers. That was the toughest area of the game for me.

I've been using a torch, and just using health items to replenish my hearts when I'm not using a torch. I used to do this in my original file, as well, before getting the cold weather clothes. It's more exciting anyway, the sense of danger you get.

Do you mind telling me how to get in, then? I searched for a while, but was stumped. I thought there would be an opening you could get to from the river, on that raft, but I didn't see anything. Am I meant to go in from above, or something?

IIRC there's an entrance on the side of a cliff somewhere to the right of the hole. You have to glide to it. There are some boulders you can blow up on the little islands in the water below that uncover some wind vent things.

Another minor trick to stay warm in the cold, just equip a fire-based item like a fire wand or something. It will keep you warm even if it's holstered on your back .

I agree that it was more exciting without the cold weather clothes.

Alright, thanks! I didn't know about the fire weapon thing at all, though. o_O;; Just recently, when I was using a meteor wand in the Hebra Mountains, it occured to me that might work, but I didn't really try it. It's good, because the torch can go out under certain circumstances, and can take a few seconds to relight, or you might not be able to relight it at all, at the time.

Have you played many sandbox games? How do you feel they compare? I've had a chance to really play about 5 or 6, and this is definitely my favourite.

A fair number of them, I guess. As a sandbox game I think BotW has much more interesting regions and terrain than most, if not all of the other ones I've played. It seems like every little nook and cranny and even every plain cliffside are interesting somehow. I have my gripes with the game, but it has more to do with the weapons and menu system marring the overall experience.
