Buying a new one and an adapter didn't do anything for me yet. I don't miss how noisy and springy the controller is. If I really need my muscle memory and pressure-sensitive shielding that badly, it should be more readily apparent.

The Pro controller feels great in the hand. And that's impressive for a Nintendo console. The company went from a PS-style on the Classic Pro, to an abomination for the Wii U Pro, to an Xbox-style in the course of 3 gens.

It's time to let go.

Shitty analog stick that ends up forcing you to walk in one direction. Meanwhile the N64 analog stick took tons of abuse.

N64 sticks go flaccid or have personalities. Speedrunners have different controllers for different tasks like movement or spinning.

It was never a great controller. It just got lucky by being the controller you played Melee on.

And yeah this was always one of its biggest problems.

It thrived on the lack of a decent alternative. The original Wii begged you to use it for Brawl and then Smash 4 ended up being a lost generation.
