I don't think there's a single synchro monster that does like 3 different things.

At the most, it'd be like an on-summon effect, activation (ignition) effect, and then like a recursion effect, but I'm pretty sure there isn't one that has really complicated triple effect.

If you take the time to read them or learn them, you'll realize they're really simple. One of the og synchros still being used today is Stardust Dragon, and all he does is just tribute itself to prevent any destruction effect and then bring himself back at the end phase. Really simple but very effective. That kinda style still works for modern Yugioh, though now people like spamming the hell out of them.

It's at 1, but it's made fun of as a "terrible" card. Mostly because if you draw it on turn 1, it literally does nothing, and you can potentially lose a duel because of a worse first turn. But people still run it on side deck, and Torrential Tribute is technically better, since you can activate it in mid-combo of your opponent's, while Raigeki tries to tackle an already established board and probably gets negated

Summoning conditions almost never dictate a cards effect. Some of the most busted monsters currently are Fusions.

Xyz is pretty much the simplest summoning condition. Instead of complicated fusion spells, ritual spells and tuner monsters, all you need is two or more monsters of the same level. Makes it very accessible to casual players.

Links have even looser summoning conditions, but the whole concept of Link Arrows makes them much harder to use overall.

Yeah maybe he means it's similar. Contact fusion was basically the precursor to synchros.

I had to stop when Link summoning became a thing and they changed the field.....again.

They should have just stopped at XYZs. I couldn't imagine being a 12 year old kid and trying to get into Yugioh now. It's just all so convoluted and complicated now
