iirc it's mostly directed at things like flavoured vapes, rillos, etc - basically at the vape crowd and pot smokers because "it gets youngin's into cigarettes" and the menthol flavour is appealing to younger people or some shit.

I'm pretty sure they're worse for you than regular cigarettes, btw, cus menthol opens up the airways or something which means more nicotine/carcinogens go into your system while smoking. Not sure how legit that is but I remember reading it somewhere.

Might as well TC. You may have some time though because from what I've read this may take much longer than anything relating to what they're doing in the world of vaping. You'll probably have at least a year before they start putting out a timetable for the ban.

If they're racist for "being targeted towards black people" then isn't it more racist to outright ban them because it places assumption that black people are unable to make health decisions for themselves and instead must rely on the government's approval/disapproval?

What about brands like American Spirit or Nat Sherman? Those are the whitest, most hipster-based cigarette brands and both have been offering Menthols for ages. Seems silly to place a blanket ban on every menthol for "think of the X group" reasons and decide to ignore the elephant in the room which is prohibition for the sake of prohibition.

I'm definitely against cigarette marketing that still ends up being geared towards kids... But banning cigarettes or even just one variety of a problem. Mostly because it ignores the reasons why people smoke. Like, people being stressed from working full time yet still struggling with paying rent. Or how it relieved stress and can help stave off hunger pain and therefore is really popular with the homeless. Etc. A simple ban doesn't actually fix the issues that make people smoke.
