Imagine being a good and hard working person your whole life, then you make a mistake as all humans do, then years later learning from that mistake and growing into a better person society says fuck all of that and ruins your life for good. Why continue living after all of that? Must be hell.

I know right? The point is that people are capable of and should be praised for making a positive change; not derided for a previously held belief. It is a little disheartening to see how many unintelligent people there are who just call for someone's head.

Who gives a shit about any of those award shows they all make speaches in a room full of people who agree with them and act like they are these great heroes. They cut away to people overcome with how heroic they are. When i see a celebrity stand up there and say something outside the echo chamber script i will consider that actual courage. Most of hollywood can go fuck themselves they all are out of touch.

His "jokes" were not even clever, they were just straight up homophobia. I would be willing to forgive him for that if he had become a better person and realized why those were hurtful things to say. If he had actually apologized for them, I might be fine with him being the host. But instead he downplayed it and basically went "get off my back, you don't know me"....and now he thinks that counts as "addressing it" when he said "i already addressed it"

It's only when he started facing real consequences for it that he suddenly decided to actually apologize.
