For me, Sonic dominated my childhood in the early 90s, and then Crash took over in the late 90s ("Cortex Strikes Back" still being my favorite game of all time). Then I really got into Ratchet & Clank in the early 2000s, with my interest in that peaking with "A Crack in Time" (which, as far as I'm concerned, was the last worthy game in the series).

But I suppose Sonic has the most nostalgic value for me. Crash and Ratchet are not far behind.

Like you, Sonic was the infatuation of my early childhood (like, 5 through 8); Crash replaced him during adolescence (about 9 through 13); and then Ratchet & Clank took over for my teen years (14 through 16). As actual characters, though, I think I like Crash the most. Very fun and expressive character. Sonic's "too cool for school" attitude can get kinda corny, and Ratchet became a bit boring after the first game.

First it was Sonic (until I lost interest after Sonic 3 and Knuckles), and then Vectorman.
