Isn't the free market defined by things being successful on whether the consumer likes something, and not the supplier?

So in this case, ideas are the product, viewers/patrons are the customers, personalities are the salesmen, and patreon are the store. So if people didn't like their ideas, didn't give them money, and then the personalities remove themselves form patreon, then that's the free market working. Patreon banning someone they don't like is closer to prohibition imo.

Tim Pool is a nice enough guy and all, but when was the last time he did any actual journalism. He seems to have settled into the tried and true YouTube career of reading other people's news articles in front of a camera with sensationalized video titles.

That's not really what Patreon is at all.

It's intended for content creators who make semi-regular content (e.g. podcasts, Youtube video makers, musicians, etc.) to be able to have a subscription model rather than try to monetize each thing they make.

I can't fucking stand Sargon either, and he pretty much laughed at Ethan Ralph, an actual Alt-Righter, getting deplatformed.

The real issue is that ALL these giant tech companies are working in tandem to silence people that they disagree with politically. Even if you setup an alternative to Patreon for people deemed "Alt-Right" by these companies, money still has to flow through some sort of banking site, and these banking sites are working with the rest of the giant tech companies.

No one should be silenced, or have their livelihoods destroyed based on their opinions. These corporations won't stop until everyone that THEY deem as "extremist" or "racist" or even a "nazi" are off the internet, and their voices gone.

All this stuff is such bullshit. It's one thing to have a clear set of rules where a violation can be pointed out directly at a certain rule. It's another to constantly look for anything that can slightly qualify as a rule violation and snap their jaws around their necks in an attempt to wipe them from the platform even when it doesn't meet the exact wording of the rule. He said some naughty words somewhere not at all related to his source of income. It's very justified to criticize him for using those words, but an instant ban is just dumb when the owner literally said they will not be engaging in such behavior.

None of this is surprising. It was obvious they'd start with the really fringe people like Alex Jones and then work their way down to the less extreme people. And since the far left considers anyone that is even slightly to right of them to be Nazi, pretty much nobody to the right of them is safe.

It's not. True free market would not have anything other than the consumer governing what is and is not acceptable. Patreon running it's fingers through the hair of content creators and then yanking them out prematurely is akin to governmental bodies providing bailouts - in this case it's providing bailouts to the ideas they see as acceptable since "bad ideas" are gone and now the ratio of good:bad is lessened.

It's like a weed dealer who won't sell Purple Stank because they hate the way it sounds. Sure, yeah, it was their most popular weed, but the dealer didn't like it. In a true free market situation, the dealer would have had a slew of weed available and would have only cut out strains when they are no longer profitable. Free market is governed by green, not pink (cus you're brain is pink)

Or I guess think of it like evolution - when all of the birds and shit were learning to fly, for all we know there was a helicopter bird. Turns out that wing birds were better for whatever it is that birds do, so they survived more than the helicopter birds. In the case of Patreon, it would be like all of the old birds were like "fuck you, helicopter birds. We wingy boys now" despite the fact that helicopters are much cooler than stupid fucking birds.

Or, take technology for an example - Camera on your phone?? Say whaaaat?!? We might not have had this is corporations decided, "Hey, we want you making phone calls, not capturing memories. No cameras!" instead of letting popularity decide. Free market is all about shooting the best selfies and posting them on instagram with ya boys.

If it was no longer economically viable to keep these dudes on Patreon, then it'd be trimming the fat by getting rid of them. If they're banning them just cus "muh feelings" then it's not a true free market situation. You don't alter the flow of a river and call it natural.

Why can't lefties and righties get along?

Like, lefties blame whities for things being bad. Righties blame kippah boys for things being bad. They have a lot in common in that they blame some boogie man on their problems, don't take time to reflect or be mindful of how THEY affect the world, etc. Don't even try telling a lefty or a righty that they might be wrong about something..

People's worldview is limited to their perception. Ever read quantum theory? About how like, we perceive 2D (kind of, it's like a brain trick to see depth) despite occupying the 3rd dimension. So I guess you could say that understanding is one step down from what really is. So, y'know, your perception is just one aspect of the greater picture and you can't see things for what they are until you relinquish that notion of only seeing things one way. Kind of how like, supposedly, the 4th dimension would be able to see the entirety of the 3rd dimension at any given time.

I think the reason people think Sargon is far right because he only makes videos that target the left now. Back then when he was primarily a skeptic channel (basically making videos targetting the religious right), he was getting accused of being a liberal when his political ideology more fits with libertarianism. Sargon is part of the "anti-sjw" community on youtube because they make more money making vids on those type of content than on the religious right anymore.
