The PSP had original games too. Since you missed the obvious point I'll just clearly and directly say it. People made exception for the DS, people didn't make exception for the PSP. Basically Nintendrones did Nintendrone things.

What I said for the DS applies to the PSP also, so Im not sure what your point is. The PSP was not hated by any stretch. The DS sold better because its games (and Nintendo in general) appeal to a much, much wider market than Playstation. Stop coming up with useless things to fake outrage about.

Is that really a reason people disliked the PSP? I just thought the UMD was terrible and Sony did a bad job managing the online aspect.

this really only happened with spin offs of console series like God of War. they were ported to PS3 because they sold like shit on PSP

The UMD was the only real bad thing. I just remember everyone being hyped af that there was a full GTA game on a handheld, and then when the system was hacked everyone went crazy about the emulators. The system had almost nothing but positive hype early on.

It wasn't until later much in its life that they even started relying on ports and remakes, and by that point they were a welcome thing.
