This. I mean, it mostly just seems like the people who get mad about it are jealous because they don't have the same audience/friend network that these people do.

Yeah pretty much - you're providing some form on entertainment that anyone passing by can enjoy, and they have the option to pay if they feel it deserved reward.

I remember when "e-begging" and "shilling" was considered the lowest of the low on youtube.
Now literally everyone does it and it's considered a necessary part of the job.

I'd rather hear a YouTuber mention their patreon for 5 seconds at the end of a video. Before that there were YouTubers that would literally do livestreams begging for money with a Paypal address. That shit was shameless.
