Also I try to make a point to watch videos with low view counts over verified account 10,000+ view videos. I've found some pretty cool stuff doing this.

Youtube is part of the modern internet system.

People all over the world regularly watch it on their phones or at home.

And yeah, they get notifications when shit they likes pops up and get shit they may like reccomended

You know I keep hearing people say this but in my experience they haven't changed at all.

It's still stuff where I can see the relation to the videos I watched.

Sure there are some random ones like that Snooker Guy clearing the table. But that's not new, it's always been like this.

I honestly wonder if this is just groupthink. Youtube was always like this but you never noticed before. there's always been a handful of oddball reccomendations.

In my case, I really just watch a few gaming things (Game Grumps, speedrun/TAS stuff, extended OST's for games, among others), random anime bullshit (nothing specific, just mostly short clips that look like they might be funny), and Exotics Lair. I don't watch basically anything to do with pop culture, makeovers, lo-fi, or cooking. But yet when I scroll down my home page of recommended videos, eventually, those are all I see recommended. And I've been making sure to mark them as "not interesting" to hopefully help youtube perhaps sort them out of my recommendations, but they keep coming back.

It really just feels like, lately, YT is just pushing partnered content, regardless of whether it's about something I'd enjoy or not.
