While I liked their videos and humor, they didn't really click for me until last year when I was going through a pretty bad depressive episode and started watching them before bed and during lunch as a sort of security blanket. As others have said, I liked that they meshed with one another so well and felt "real", which brought me comfort when I watched them. It's a dumb sentiment, I know, and I'm the type who always cringed whenever someone would pop up in the comments or at panels for Youtubers and say that their channel "saved them", or something, but here I am. I think the writing was on the wall when Liam left. The rest of the guys suddenly opened their own personal channels and started plugging them. Then Matt went on hiatus around the same time, December 16, 2016 to be exact. Yes, the same day the channel disbanded. I don't think that's a coincidence - maybe when Matt came back, he gave the channel another chance and finally couldn't do it anymore this year. It's telling that most of the content on Matt's channel is about movies, highly edited content, things he likes, or some semblance of the above. Factor in all the vacations he had been taking from the channel in the last three or so years and it should be obvious that Matt lost interest. The whole thing is a bummer though.
