It's criminal how much these repairs cost. At least half the price a of new phone.

Get a quote from a 3rd party solution if you want to go that route.

Dont drop 1000 dollars on a phone. Your not even getting 1000 dollars worth of tech. Half of that price goes into the apple logo.

Sounds like when one of my friends dropped his Galaxy S9; it was seriously close to $300 just to replace the screen even with the insurance.

How bad is your screen, TC?

I'd take a picture but.. well yeah.

I can see it. You can still see the full display when it's a darket background, you can when its white too but you see the cracks. I can see it at least.

I guess I could wait for screen repairs to go down since it's newer. I'll probably ask for this for my Christmas gift -_-

I assume you could buy an older model of the same phone. For example, if you break your iPhone X, but a used iPhone 6 and swap the SIM card. I really dont know what that would cost, but you can always find a decent phone on Craigslist if you look hard enough.

OLED screens are very expensive across the board, and it doesn't help much that Apple's absolutely crazy about restricting spare parts these days

I have an iPhone SE as a backup for my X and that cost $130

Buying phones so cheap that you can buy another if they break sounds good in theory, but if you use your phone for more than just calls and texts it'll be a nightmare to retain all your data between phones

Going third-party for a repair was even more expensive. I'm still using an S5, but I dread replacing it with these mega-costly-to-repair models in the future.

That's rough, but at least you can use it without slicing your fingers open, right?

This is why not to buy apple products. They overcharge for everything. A screen repair I needed done about a year ago for an android phone was half the cost of TC's repair.

As long as your phone's set to do a cloud backup every night, that idea would work just fine. Just log into your account with your new phone and you're all set

It's only really a bitch if you jump between Android and iOS a lot
