Joseph was killed in the shooting and police said the father was JUSTIFIED in using deadly force against his own son. The savage fight happened between 30 y/o Joseph and 26 y/o James at 6AM in the morning while they were at their parents house playing a game of pool while wasted Joseph was acting "irrationally" after drinking beer with brother James for 8 hours and after the game of pool descended into chaos, Joseph pulled a knife on his brother while strangling him with one arm. John shouted at Joseph to release James and was forced to shoot him SEVERAL times with a revolver.. The mother saw the whole thing and called 911 in a distraught voice as Sheriff William Snyder said the physical altercation was all over a game of pool that escalated into an attack The parents said they heard their younger son pleading for his brother to let go and to stop choking him but the brother continued to strangle him. Snyder said "I don't know if there is a way i could accurately describe the look on his face. I am not sure what the dad could have done" When asked why there won't be charges, he said the physical evidence and witness statements indicate that deadly force was necessary to prevent death and that the father was justified. I mean, we don't know these people at all. That alone puts us in the dark about most of the information we'd need in order to pass judgment. The parents know their sons, and they chose to shoot one of them several times in this situation. We should be giving them the benefit of the doubt for their choices, especially considering how hard it must be to have done that. --- All points of view and perspectives exist for a reason.
