They actually bring this up at the end of Uncharted 2, which is probably not by coincidence the best game in the series

Still, it's not like the guys he killed weren't asking for it already/instigating beforehand. When they were pulling off a heist in 2 they used tranquilizer guns for this exact reason

And I like the theory that Nathan Drake is the same guy from Spec Ops The Line lol

It's kinda difficult to qualify Drake as a good guy at times, he actively goes in search of all this trouble he finds for himself, is an actual thief and his end goal is to get rich off the treasures he finds. He's more a rogue with a heart of gold, I guess... But he's still guilty of a lot of the destruction he creates.

Lara at least is already rich, and is often out seeking artifacts for either recovery/curiosity or because she knows it's a danger to the state of the world.

I've always felt the Uncharted Games had an excessive amount of enemies to shoot. It's almost absurd. Hes like an 80s action movie hero that kills like 300 bad guys in a 2 hour movie like they're ants

he doesnt kill any of the guards
he puts them in sleeper holds and knocks them out and uses a tranq gun
even the guy he throws off a roof into the sea survives if you look at the water you see him swimming to safety

nate, sully, elena and chloe only ever kill people who are trying to kill them
its not their fault that they are all better than trained mercenaries
