...Certain, typically right wing individuals, seem to find every excuse in the book to try and label it as a bad thing? They'll accuse it of being a diversity quota thing, an attack on white people since sometimes white characters are recast as black characters (these guys never seem to mind if the inverse happens tho ) or find some other reason or excuse to get upset.

It seems like sheltered people feel "invaded" when something white and male in a story ceases to be either or both, like it's a personal attack on them when Rey is a female protagonist in a Star Wars movie, James Bond could hypothetically be cast as a black actor (merely the notion sends people into a fit of rage), or you get a successful movie of black actors (Blank Panther) get attacked for being part of some nebulous "SJW" agenda

I'm really not trying to start a nuclear flame war here because I'm genuinely curious why excuses are found again and again to be upset over casting changes, and if it isn't casting changes, they'll just decry a new original work as SJW anyway since it dares to have a protagonist that isn't white (or male)

The notion that minorities and people of varying sexualities exist in life hurts their little racist brain. Seeing them in movies being more than stereotypes hurts them even more.
