I feel that ME 2 loses a lot when it comes to the overall story because Mass Effect is so bulls. It is like so much of what you did there has little to know impact in 3.

ME2 honestly feels like a single season of a TV show that's connected to the overall story.

That's really more a failing of 3, than a negative of 2.

ME2 is one of my favorite games. I had a 6 different characters ready to play when ME3 came out. I ended up not wanting play through ME3 more than once.

Yeah, they fucked up the story in 3. Most of the squadmates you've enlisted in 2 don't even join you.

To me is that if they are killed off.. there is someone doing almost the same things as your mate. Then they put that Vega in the game for some reason.. I know it is so people could get close to the same game no matter what choices that they made..but it just irked me.

1 and 3 could be swapped. 3 was awesome until the last 5 minutes. Super cathartic and powerful until the end.

1 had the most awesome story and atmosphere

2 was really cool but it was the weakest imo. Main story arc was nearly nonexistent.

Mass Effect 1 was pretty much my favorite RPG of all time. Mass Effect 2 single-handedly made me lose interest in the entire series.

1 > 3 > 2 > MEA

I love the original trilogy and I liked MEA

2 is still good but it has the weakest main plot.

3 has a TERRIBLE first and last hour. But everything inbetween is gold. Probably has the highlights of the entire franchise in there.

1 is my favorite though because it intoduces a magifcent universe full of lore and adventure and really feels like you're a tiny part of the galaxy, exploring and learning.

The line that sticks in my head is "Humanity is just one more drop in a bucket that's already overflowing."

What I love about ME1 is that the plot is about the universe and Reapers and Saren. While Shepard is just the vehicle we have to explore this universe. It's so incredibly immersive. When you go to Noveria everyone is just mildly irritated at you for being a nusiance.

In 2 and 3, they are still great games but the plot is about Shepard. Entirely. Shepard is now the center of the universe, Shepard witnesses everything, is the key to everything and everyone knows who Shepard is. It makes the universe feel smaller, no longer a universe, just a planet.

Cerberus literally raises the dead just to bring you back... for some reason... and it just seems kinda dumb...

I'm really not too fond of RPGs(Well outside of TES.) where games have a change your class on the fly system, or in MEA's case... the loadout system. Which came at the cost of micromanaging squadmates' powers that allowed players to strategize their team to its fullest potential. Plus I didn't like the new power system, I would've been okay with it if they offered a Paragon system(AKA skill point dump.) where you allocate unused points into Combat/Tech/Biotic and have it increase your effectiveness in it. Nioh offered something like this which was a great idea from a RPG standpoint.

Not surprising at all.

A lot of gamers (in fact most) don't really care about the plot of video games.

And ME2 had the strongest character focus. 12 slaves, several you could fuck, all with their own mission and conversations.

People loved it.

I was real pissed when they took it away from Andromeda.

That's mainly why I like it, to be honest. It's why I like the Tales Of series too, since those are more about the characters in the long run. It really felt like your crew grew over the course of the game, and the stakes being so high meant the game had a much darker tone, so your crew became one of the bright spots.

Despite all its flaws (no its definitely not perfect till the last 5 minutes) ME3 is my favourite just because of how good the gameplay is. In terms of overall quality, probably 2 is best. 1 in terms of story and world. But yeah, that gameplay keeps me hooked on 3.

Andromeda is an abomination in every way.

what makes most of the game bad? i rather liked a lot of the plots were tied up, and the way a lot of the characters were handled.

I liked how fluid the combat felt, especially with sprinting.

1 felt ridiculous, and 2 was "you can run for about 4 seconds before getting winded."

If I wanted to suck at running I'd do it myself.

Coming from the first game to the second it was a massive downgrade for Adept lovers due to the GCD.

Annoying as that might be, the gameplay is still much better so its hardly a downgrade let alone a massive one.
