Part 1 is set in 1988 (released 1988), Part 2 is set in 1990 (released 1990), Part 3 is set in 1998 (released in 1991) and Part 4 is set in 1998 (released in 1998).

it works out just fine because andy isnt in the 4th one so you could easily say it happens immediately after the events of the third film
i mean it makes sense that tiff would get chucky as soon as she learned of his location
so id say that both 3 and 4 take place in the same month

I just thought it was interesting it works out fine in the movies and in real life the trilogy was so good and movies need to take breaks like that but they start to sell out after the fourth installment
