Trump withdraws from Syria and in response Brett McGurk, the top U.S. special envoy to Syria resigns and sends an e-mail in protest of the withdrawal, trashing the administration. Part of the e-mail says:

"The recent decision by the president came as a shock and was a complete reversal of policy that had been articulated to us by [National Security Adviser John] Bolton and others...It left our coalition partners confused and our fighting partners bewildered with no plan in place or even considered thought as to consequences."

In response Trump says that he "doesn't know him" and that he is grandstanding in deciding to resign.

This means that Trump, who made the decision to withdraw from Syria, ignored the advice of some staff members -- McGurk and Jim Mattis -- and is either telling the truth about not knowing the special enjoy to Syria or lying yet again. Both possible answers are bad for him and American people.

Trumps defense is basically "I didn't know the guy that was the go-to person in understanding the Syrian situation when I withdrew from the area."

The President of the U.S. everyone.

I doubt Trump knows most of the people working for him. He doesn't seem like the type to care.

You would think that some people would care about the state of this nation over their partisan bull shit and want a President to think about a situation and rely on expert counsel before making decisions because it is in the best interest of the nation.

To be fair, this is an issue for both parties. No leaders on either side.

Why would Republicans care that the US is wagging its tail for daddy Putin?

Despite every adviser saying that this is only going to allow ISIS to regroup and rebuild.

Although, I disagree with the reason being to "trigger" (stupid term), they will support things just to oppose the dems. Whats really sad is that we may get to see an example of this in the very near future as we watch what happens to the Kurds. Any republican that was hawkish at all during the past 18 years should want to support the Kurds but I have no expectation that it will happen.
