For this one, I assume it's because the Heartless are stealing (or eating, I guess) hearts which takes them to the dark world. Those stolen hearts form together into Kingdom Hearts, so you have a Kingdom Heart inside the realm of darkness. Sora believes that the heart of hearts is filled with light because friendship while Ansem believes it is filled with darkness because he's evil, neither one of them really knew shit.

So you've basically got a big ball of light in a big ocean of darkness. Ansem got zapped by the ball, but the ocean was still threatening to spill out.

The Heartless are physical, living manifestations of the darkness within people's hearts.
Ansem studied them, thought them to be the ultimate lifegorm and decided to spread them and destroy worlds.
They needed to be sealed to prevent the destruction of everything.
Riku is manipulated.
Mickey is badass and saves the world.

It's hinted at pretty early on that Riku is an extremely jealous and possessive type. This is suggested when he races Sora and says the winner gets to share the Paopu Fruit with Kairi. When he sees Sora with Donald and Goofy he assumes he no longer cares about him and Kairi. Maleficent is perceptive and notices this trait, and uses it to her advantage. Riku never fully trusts that she has his best interests at heart, but his jealousy drives him to take advantage of her powers to put Sora in his place for "betraying" him.

I will add to this, Riku probably never saw anything indicating the darkness was bad until he was already deep in the shit.

Ansem isn't actually Ansem, but rather someone the real Ansem took in as an apprentice. He then proceeded to perform those dark experiments using the other apprentices, creating the Org XIII you fight in CoM/KH2 and took Ansem's identity. The "Ansem" in KH1 is actually the Heartless of the fake Ansem. DiZ in KH2 is the real Ansem
As for who the apprentice is, you'll have to play Birth By Sleep

Then play after KH2. It's pretty useless to do a series playthrough for KH3 if I'm going to just tell you the whole story.

tl;dr that wasn't KH, KH is just what happens when you get an epic fuckload of hearts together and that one was in the dark world.

It's actually explained in a different game, but since you want immediate answers...essentially, the KH in KH1 is not the real one. It's a smaller one that is only the "Heart of All Worlds" not the "Heart of All Hearts."

Since some worlds were plunged in darkness, it served as the source of the light for worlds that still existed, but the darkness for the worlds that had fallen to darkness. Sealing it broke that connection (otherwise, as opened it would have allowed the darkness to flow out) and the sealing allowed the worlds in darkness to return to light.

Yes, and it was a real mess at launch.

Basically the original game tied game mechanisms to the framerate and the PS4 version raised the framerate to 60 without changing the rest.
Which messed up things like making you jump lower, messing up yours and enemy movements, messing up the sounds, some enemy attacks are much faster, messing up the magic, it had multiple crashes, etc.

Kingdom Hearts is a huge a heart, right? Well Sora realized that friendship (light) is what made his heart stronger throughout his journey. So naturally the biggest heart would emanate the biggest light. Which it did.

Meanwhile Ansem was convinced darkness was the heart's true essence, and thought the biggest heart would have the biggest darkness. It didn't.

Riku is the "cool guy" of the group. But he's super insecure and got jealous when Sora became the main character instead of him. KH2 and Birth by Sleep go into more detail on this.

Why is kairis heart in sora

This was only explained in a guidebook. Because she's a princess, her heart has powers. One of which is sensing that it was in danger so it left her body to hide inside of Sora.

The implication is that he was a kind scientist who simply pursued his research to an insane amount and got corrupted by the darkness. That's all you're supposed to know in this game.

They weren't sealing Kingdom Hearts itself, but the door to darkness, which lead to the realm of darkness.

For starters, the Kingdom Hearts in the first game was just one that Ansem built himself with the stolen hearts of the worlds that were lost (like Sora's islands), not the real Kingdom Hearts. However, both the real KH and fake KH exist in the realm of darkness, so Ansem needed to open to door to darkness to get to it.

But to answer your question, they needed to defeat Ansem and destroy his fake KH so all the stolen hearts would be released and return the worlds to normal.

Kingdom Hearts has always existed in the realm of darkness. But its light is so powerful that it acts as the source of light for the realm of light even from there. "The light within the darkness," as Sora says.

Destroying Ansem's fake KH wouldn't have any impact on it.

That's also true. They didn't trust Square with Mickey in the first game so he was limited to just one scene. So his adventure is very vague.
