If you're playing on console, buy a stick extension and then set your deadzone as low as you can while keeping stick drift to a minimum (most new shooters have deadzone settings).

I play on PC but I may need to keep that in mind for when I do play console games

what mouse are you using? i find that i have an easier time aiming in fps games with a claw grip mouse rather than a palm grip.

There is a program I've seen shroud and some other people use where you have to quickly shoot at tiny targets. Good for flick practice and just generally to improve your aim. Don't know what it's called though.

hmm maybe go the other way and try a bigger mouse then? getting a big, thin mousepad also helps a lot
