It's obviously an okay sign that just had a separate meaning to fucked up people. I still use it like a thumbs up gesture.

I?m acknowledging the circle game is a real thing. I also acknowledge trolls did try to hijack the okay sign to be a symbol of white supremacy and did a pretty good job of it, to the point where in certain contexts it is, sadly.

This is really all that needs to be said about it.

Just because somebody doesn't play a game, I could probably say harsh stuff but I'm nice, doesn't mean it never existed or it's some crazy rare thing.

I could name 20 people of the top of my head that I played it with for years upon years.

And yah, because some fuck face wants to turn a harmless thing into an awful thing, that's on them. Not the 99.4% of the people using it that harmless way, and they gotta stop getting shit on because of 18 random assholes.

Why not just use a new hand signal for it?

Why let the racist win?

At what point does it stop being a joke? Like is the shooting of all those people in NZ not as bad because the guy did his whole white power thing as a joke? Is going "ha ha just kidding" while murdering people make it ok? I'm curious where the line is drawn because you people defending it seem to believe there is no need for any kind of line.

Are you seriously comparing people making the ok symbol to someone shooting up a place?

Really?

Holy shit, is this really how the left thinks?

Your ability to miss the point is astounding. But then again:

Pro tip if you've ever once said any of the following you have lost your right to argue that it's not offensive:

-Nazis have a right to free speech
-Nazis have a right to assemble
-they can do whatever as long as they aren't hurting anyone
-Antifa is as bad as/ worse than Nazis
-hitting Nazis makes you as bad/ worse than them
-Antifa are the real fascists

All of those phrases give room for white nationalists and the like to openly operate as well as denying the very real threat they pose, the harm they've done, and what rhetoric they espouse. In doing so, you've allowed them to co-opt otherwise harmless things under the guise of plausible deniability, and as such they've been able to openly use these signals. Even if it IS "just a prank, bro" the intent is still there, and it's to offend. Kind of hard to defend something being offensive for the sake of being offensive unless your humor is at the level of a 12 year old.

So yeah, in the future maybe don't let racists openly operate and then you won't have to worry about your pranks being associated with racists.

I'm still going to use the ok sign to say I'm ok.

And if someone uses it to express their racism, I will call them racists.

Easy.

search for liberals crying about the beloved circle game being taken from them cant be found lol

it only seems to be the "N word is just a word!" crowd who seems to be upset over all this

Because it is a stupid ass question. No one in their right mind would find that funny and to compare it to the circle game is just dumb as hell.

Here's a question for anyone that wants to answer: How many people in the country do think know about the ok sign being used by white supremacists in recent years? Percentage-wise. I'm really curious to see what people think in regards to that.

Strange how even a police precinct in Alabama suspended cops for doing it. I highly doubt they were a part of the left and they also clearly think it's a problem....

What's with this huge attempt to trivialize this?

this is just like Pepe meme. originally an innocent meme, but hijacked by alt-righters. and of course they use the same excuse when someone called them out.

The same excuse of "we are transparently trying to make out ideological opponents look silly by attacking something innocuous just because we like it."

reminds me to someone who said "dude it's a symbol of peace" when they use swastikas.

Yeah, that happened.

not reading this whole thread but their is A swastika like symbol that does represent peace, its Indian I believe, BUT its slightly different, think its flipped the other way or some shit I can't remember off the top of my head.

actually here looking up a picture I found this whole thing

https://imgur.com/gallery/Hc1cRcu

so yeah the version nazis use is a presented differently.

ok this is a pet peeves of mine, but Swastika is the name of the original symbol. Nazi's symbol is called Hakenkreuz or "Crooked Cross".
so it's not corrupted into swastika, but a swastika that is corrupted.

pretty much. IIRC even back during ww2 days or right after I can't recall we allowed a nazi party to form in this country. they never got any traction naturally but we allowed it. I personally don't like the idea of nazi's or white supremacists getting any traction, but I also don't like the idea of picking and choosing who has a right to free speech or not.

edit: does depend on what exactly they are saying though I guess, if they are literally saying they plan to kill people, thats something that needs to get shut down.

They have started co-opting clowns with rainbow colored hairs. Will be hilarious if they manage to capture the rainbow flag. If sjws will censor any appropriated symbols this easily, eventually everything will be banned like 1984.
