These IPs grabbed by Disney/MARVEL presented in casual form has been going for a while now, with every Hollywood Big shot name being casted already. All of this has made regular Hollywood movies seem like irrelevant, they become flavor of the month, their is a John Wick 3 already and I only remember the first one, guess what else....they ain't making BILLIONS.... I would say like at at least 90% maybe of the world population that watches super hero movies has never read a comic in their lives. That number goes up even further when you leave America or Canada maybe. (Super hero comics are mostly an American thing) People just don't read comics anymore. Sometime during the 90s there was a shift and most people just stopped reading them. It's an extreme minority now that knows anything about the source material behind these movies. And I think some people aren't even aware the comics exist . My dad reads some Catholic Facebook thing about pop culture and God and he thinks the Director of Infinity War invented the look of the Gauntlet (something about it looking similar to some glove a saint wore) I told him it's based on a comic from 1991 and he didn't understand <cite>Zikten posted [p:922017964] in When will ... In the early days of movies, many of it was based on books or plays or historical events. Hollywood has always been about adapting pre existing stories. The vast majority of the movies made are based on something else. A lot of times you just don't realize it was a book first for example.
