Not saying America is anything like those previous groups, but they/we(North America), need to get our heads out of our asses. We started the last century so strong, and within 50 years technology progressed further than it ever has 200 years prior. But now that the 2000s have started, we've been at a standstill for the most part. Sure there are some things developing here and there, but its nowhere near what it was even 20 years ago.
