I know he draws money, but the amount he costs to use is just too much. With his salary they could easily pay some of the undercard more and use them better.

I'm assuming AEW offered Brock a bunch, and WWE was like, "You will never not be in the Universal Title Picture ever again if you sign with us" and he was like, "Woo"

It's the same as it ever was just replace Brock with Roman/Cena/etc. I just don't get why people still watch it. Loyalty and wishful thinking can only go so far. It's some battered wife syndrome at this point.

Vince retiring/dying won't change much either. I would bet money on it.

The WWE today is just old, tired, retreaded fluff. There's no excitement in it anymore. Is the wrestling good? Sure, but that's the only good thing. There's no interest building around the matches. All the storylines for the most part are 'grrrr, I don't like you' 'oh yeah, well I don't like you either, let's fight' and 'I want your title' 'you can't have it, let's fight'. Some of the booking is atrocious. Three hours of Raw is a giant waste of time when you only use a handful of the roster and fill the rest of the show with crap nobody cares about.

I've said this a hundred times and i'll say it again - the Attitude era was the best era. Not because of the racy adult stuff, but because the entire roster was used and it seemed like almost everybody was involved in a storyline or a feud. The storylines were great - whodunnits, romances, wild and wacky storylines that, as absurd as some of them were, were entertaining as hell.

As much as people hate on Vince Russo he did have one practice that was smart. Everyone had a storyline that made sense. Even if he came up with shit ideas, everyone had a decent story.

What Ryven said.

I'll add that WWE is too tightly controlled and sanitized now. Back in the AE and before, a wrestler would be given the important bullet points he/she need to talk about by the booker/promoter/whatever, but ultimately would have almost total free reign on what they said and were not totally scripted like they are now. It's so obvious that what the wrestlers are saying are words written down and recited back and forth. It seems like a performance and not a real confrontation.

I feel wrestling and general has gone too far in making wrestling out to be just a show performed by actors and entertainers than a supposed legitimate athletic contest between athletes with over the top personalities. WWF/E pretty much always leaned that way, but before they knew how to dial it back and keep it interesting and relatively believable. It was always wild, but you could suspend your disbelief more back then.

Brock doesn't care about wrestling, and it was probably that Vince offered more than AEW offered.
