Hagane Orchestra aka. just Hagane or Hagane Girl's Tank War

Good tank squad gameplay like a very light World of Tanks esque thing, funky soundtrack and strong art style (there's legit like 2 hours worth of paper mario style cutscenes in it).also memetically bad translation which I count as a plus. also it's a resurrected probably super unofficial version of a dead game so it never updates.thankfully it's fully functional with daily unlockable access to all gachas in it.

Region locked in some places so you may need to get it from like qooapp or something

If I was going to pick up any game for this right now, it'd be Azur Lane. I only play FGO but my friends play AL and the quality of life/genuine care shown for the western version has me legit jealous at times.

If you're okay with playing Japanese game, there are The Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage and The Idolm@ster Million Live: Theater Days.

Both are free rhythm games so no Japanese language knowledge needed to play them and especially to see hundred of different anime girls dancing and singing. You won't understand the story though but you can find the translations on YouTube.

Both games have very good graphics and usually used as a benchmark to stress test gaming phone in Japan, for example:
https://japanese.engadget.com/2019/05/09/13-black-shark-2/

Gacha is only needed to unlock special costume so it's totally optional.

You can but no. There are full on paid gachas but also duplicates of them that use in-game currency from completing missions

(actually to be more specific they're the same currency, there are just ones that specifically require "paid tamahagane" and identical ones that don't)

This is also a pertinent question for me, except add in the stipulation that I would like something that joining late means I have lots of content to go through. That there's incentive to try it.

The only mobile game I've really played is Fire Emblem Heroes. So for example, if I were to start an account on there, I'd have literally hundreds of missions available that all get me rewards to pull more stuff. Any of these suggestions have something in place similar to that?

Granblue Fantasy would be a hell of a suggestion for this. Honestly it may be more content than you even want. It's a game that's entirely too easy to spend all your free time playing, which is why I got out early when I noticed how easy it can drag you in to everything, especially with 5+ years of story and side stories plus regular event stories.

I'd recommend Fate/Grand Order.

Granblue Fantasy is also an option but when I tried it like two years ago there were just so many bells and whistles that I found it intimidating. You probably would enjoy it more with a guide or a friend showing you what to do. FGO is easier to pick up.

Fate/Grand Order has a ton of stuff to catch up on

Langrisser has a decent amount and it's still fairly new >_>

I played FGO for about 4 hours late last night.

Got me like 9 copies of the big booby lady that showcases the Friend Point banner, so it's already lived up to my expectations.

The Alchemist Code is p good if you like FFT-style combat

There is tons of back content, and it's very f2p-friendly. I've never spent anything and I have dozens of max level 5* units
