Hard to choose between The Departed and Gladiator.

I think Gladiator

This is my signature, there are many others like it, but this one is mine.

Return of the King

It's a real shame they saved everything LotR for Return though, it should have easily won all 3 years

The only other one I saw was Silence of the Lambs, which was top notch as well

But the awards are a huge joke, arguably the biggest films of all time, like Star Wars and the Dark Knight, don't even get nominated because of their genre even though they were fucking huge

The only 2 I've actually seen all the way through are Rocky and Silence of the Lambs, out of those 2 I'd pick Silence of the Lambs.

Return of the King is nearly perfect and I was so proud to see it win

Slumdog Millionaire is probably my favorite, and maybe the most happy Ive ever been for a film to win best picture

Unforgiven and Amadeus have honorable mentions

No Country for Old Men

Also looking at the list of nominees and winners I wanna know what the hell the academy was smoking through 1990-1998

1998 - "Titanic"
1996 - "Braveheart"
1995 - "Forrest Gump"
1994 - "Schindlers List"
1993 - "Unforgiven"
1992 - "The Silence of the Lambs"

I dunno, these are all classics

With that being said, Id like to know what the Academy has been smoking for the past 10+ years. Those are way worse picks, maybe the worst decade long stretch in the awards history

They totally snubbed movies like Apollo 13 and Goodfellas in favor of films that I think arent remembered as fondly

Goodfellas should have clearly won talk about a film that never gets old and just has standout performances throughout the entire cast.

The Apartment
Kramer vs Kramer
Schindler's List
12 Years A Slave
