Republicans enter state office, get a commanding majority, and instead of using their power to actually govern they focus on passing these bizarre unpopular social conservative laws that inevitably force businesses to leave the state and cause voters to turn against them

North Carolina comes to mind with that idiotic bathroom bill a few years ago

Did it get recalled? Otherwise it was a big hibub for a month then people forget about it.

Ah, there's that evil side of Disney. Georgia should take back that billion in tax credits they give Disney and tell them to fuck off.

Source? I just googled and couldn't find anything about Georgia and a billion in tax credits for Disney

i don't know the total disney has gotten, but I can say we do give huge tax credits in Georgia. hell, you get 10% for just including the logo in the credits. I don't even think the state breaks even with these credits, but it provides such a huge boost to the local economies that it would be devastating if Hollywood decided "na fuck georgia, we out".

a link if you want to learn more about it: https://www.georgia.org/industries/film-entertainment/georgia-film-tv-production/production-incentives

They will be alright. Other industry from other countries can come instead. Hollywood actually would be the ones hurt because their profit margins are WAY lower elsewhere thats why they film in Georgia to begin with.

Of all the issues in the United States, its abortion that has the liberals the most riled up.

damn thats low effort

Its true. As much as they scream about gun control they havent come out and boycotted gun friendly states. But you take away someones ability to kill an unborn child and they act like the whole world is going to crash.

Banning abortion doesn't take away someone's ability to kill an unborn child. It just prompts people who will get abortions to resort to things like poisoning themselves or otherwise harming themselves to do it instead of doing it in a way that's safe for the mother.

Plus, even when the baby is born, it's not like Republicans care if it lives a happy life anyway lmao

Abortion isnt murder.

Also just because you use birth control, doesnt mean you wont have a baby. You can still get pregnant while being responsible, so stop being irresponsible! isnt a valid argument.

This is my bottom line: if you're not ready for pregnancy, don't have sex, birth control or not.
Regardless, if you use birth control correctly, the chance of pregnancy is very very low. It's still there, that is why you should only have sex with someone with whom you have a stable relationship. Or if you are not in a stable relationship and there is a pregnancy, own up to it.

The traumatizing experience of the woman? The devaluing of human life? Are these not issues?

When you tell a raped 13 year old "You HAVE to give birth to your rapist's child"? Then no, these things are clearly not issues to the lawmakers in Georgia.

A combination of the pill, condoms and pulling out leads to a lower chance of pregnancy then winning the fucking powerball...

If you're afraid of pregnancy there are definitely ways to virtually guarantee you won't get pregnant. My wife's friend got pregnant while on the pill but she admittedly said that she and her boyfriend believed it was cool to cream pie her every single time because of it.

First Netflix, now Disney. It was only a matter of time before Hollywood said something. Georgia should have learned their lesson the last time tbh.

**** em. Hollywood can kick rocks. A state where they criminalize people sleeping in their own vehicles but its A-OK to step over them in the streets has ZERO moral high ground to look down from. Theres places in California where there is literal human waste running down the streets and people live in that. Nobody wants to hear anything they have to say.

The sleeping in cars shit is obviously just a shitty way to boost hotel revenue. Same reason why places like Tahoe or Seattle tried to ban AirBnB. It wasn't an affront against homelessness, just a by product.

That being said, Georgia can say "fuck em" but theyll most likely change the bill once the money starts being questioned.

But it's the main reason why they elected a Democratic governor at the same time as they voted Trump

I never said "sex is for babies"
I'm saying that there is a responsibility involved in any kind of sexual relationship, and it's not just babies.
Of course it's not just for having babies, but it's undeniable that that is a natural consequence of sex. Birth control is an amazing thing, but nature is nature.

I already said that I don't agree with that, abortion should be a choice when the person was raped. I think that's a good concession to make.
