Melinda Smith, a mother in Florida is outraged after she received her son's science homework and saw that a teacher wrote an "offensive slang"!!

The Rutherford High School Teacher is not being named but is believed to have wrote the 3 letter acronym slang word.

She said the lab grade was worth 30% of her son's grade and said "It wasn't anything about not getting the credit, it was more so the language about what the writing to students that was very inappropriate and not acceptable for a teacher whatsoever"

Text on the paper assumed it was a write up for a "discovery, breakthrough in technology" or current science event and the remit appeared to fairly broad with instructions reading "It can be any area..something that interess you"

Now the young mother wants the teacher to face consequencdes tat will be a blemish on her reputation at the school

She said "I think for sure she needs to be reprimanded, i believe that something should be palced in her file"

The principal said that something was done and that HR has been involved and are investigating said Coy Pilson. It's not clear what action was taken but he appeared to be forgiving and said teachers slip up and that the teacher was apologetic and it was a mistake.

To be honest, I would not want someone using short hand, more so "wtf" in a manner with my kids.

School setting is often a starting point for a professional work environment and that will hinder the development of professionalism.

Yeah, that's a dumb mistake. Slap on the wrist is all she needs though, this is pretty minor.

I sometimes put silly feedback on student work, but only if I know the student will appreciate it, and I wouldn't ever put something inappropriate or rude like "wtf".

How is someone who thought mediocre is an uncommon word in physics? Especially discrepancies, that is a word I use every work day multiple times.

You shouldn't be anywhere near children if you feel that it is appropriate to tell a student "what the ****" about anything. That is some poor quality role modelling, at best.
