I dont even bother with the imperial system, its idiotic.

Are you kidding me? Our system makes more sense more of the time. Our units of measure are actual things.

An inch is the width of your thumb.
A foot is the length of your..... guess.
A yard is the length of your stride.

An ounce is what a shot of liquor comes in.
A cup is what coffee comes in.
A pint is what ale comes in.
A quart is what a bottle of liquor comes in.
A gallon is what milk comes in.

And it's been that way for a LONG ASS TIME. Quick, imagine what ten gallons looks like, in your head. Bet your ass you just pictured ten milk jugs. Because our system makes more sense. Now imagine what 37.9 liters looks like! Oh, snap, it's like... THAT much.

Metric is stupid. Imperial measures make more sense to more people more of the time.

wtf

all of those relations to measurements are wack

a thumb, a feet and a stride length are all different for different people's body

As an American, I use an electric Kettle.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077J8YQYX/

My gas range is great(I hate electric ovens), but it doesn't boil 2 liters of water in under 3 minutes.

So how many hands is your horse?

If I told you that my America Quarter was 15 hands high, would it matter to you? No, unless you were a horse owner like me, it would not. What did I say? More sense to more people more of the time. If I told you my horse was 152 centimeters, would that be more clear?

I used to boil water on the stove, and had never used the microwave.

I got an electric kettle last year. It was a game changer. I make tea regularly and it saves me a lot of time. And it has pleasing blue lights that turn on during the heating process and they turn off when it's ready. So nice.

Ive never been able to remember how many pints is in a quart or how many quarts are in a gallon. Those are completely useless measurements that you never need to use

Outline a situation where you would ever need to know that there's two pints in a quart. This is exactly my point. The strengths of the metric system simply don't happen in everyday life. Our system, once again, makes more sense more of the time.

Then outline a situation where somebody can't figure out that there's four QUARTS... QUARTERS..... in a gallon.

No, we use something like a stove-top kettle: https://www.amazon.com/Medelco-12-cup-Stovetop-Whistling-Kettle/dp/B00TG50ILQ
You put the water in, put the stove on high, then let it boil. You can take it off early if you want cooler water, or you can wait for it to whistle when it's ready. If you somehow forget about it, all the water will evaporate (and your glass will probably shatter, eventually).

Most modern stoves are probably electric powered.

We only boil water in pots to make something, like pasta. Even still, the water would probably evaporate before it boils over unless something else is inside.

arent electric powered stoves so slow generating heat to your preferred temperature? unless mine sucks

i usually use an electric kettle to boil my water (takes 2 minutes) and pour it into a pot to make my pasta

Why would an electric stove be slower than an electric kettle? It works the same way. Most stoves in the us are gas. Electric aren't uncommon, but gas is the standard.

electric stoves are slow dude especially to heat up a big pot of cold water to boiling

have you used an electric kettle to boil water? its super fast

My kettle on my electric stove is actually pretty fast

Not as fast as a pot of water on a gas range. By simple thermodynamics.

I've been around many horses.
I've judged a horse by its haunch against the back drop of a well know White Pine tree.

There is a chance I might have some idea.
