I don't get what's so bad about the wall itself. Nothing wrong at all with policing our borders. Every country that takes itself seriously does, and that includes the liberal ones.

The problem with the wall is that it's an insane waste of government funds, so privately raising them isn't a bad thing whatsoever.

The wall WAS a non-partisan thing. As a matter of fact, Bush Jr and Obama both installed some wall/fence, maybe even Clinton too.

But then along came 45 and he turned the wall into some sort of symbol of hating brown people and equating them to rapists and criminals and using the wall as some sort of "fuck you" to everyone with skin darker than a tone # 2 (out of 5).

Now it's a partisan issue and a symbol that racists embraced.
