I feel the need to say he still could have banged dudes and still be straight. Sexuality is about what you are attracted to not who youve had sex with. For example men in prison. Iirc it was just that in some societies women where for procreating/marriage and men/boys where just for simple pleasure.

A lot of gay guys have had relations with a woman because they where trying to conform to society. Doesnt make them any less gay. Dont see why the opposite would be any different. No, in Greece it was okay from about teenage to early 20's to be the bottom to your teacher as an exchange, that was viewed positively.

After that, you were looked at as someone with problems, and could be executed if you didn't want to pursue a heterosexual marriage and have children.

Greece certainly did not treat those relationships equally.
