I've learned to not take it personally from those types and focus on improving them as employees. Sometimes that's still not enough to have them like me, but my focus is having them progress in their roles and giving them opportunities to grow, which motivates me more than being popular.

Nah I think I'm going to fire said person. I can't keep someone that undermines me. Other employees are the ones who told me about her rants against me. She lied or exaggerated a lot of things to make me out to be a mean bad guy. Can't have that. Gave her the worst shifts possible and then I'm taking her off the schedule.

They are also useless. Sit on their phone all day.

Managers at my job are annoying because all they do is give orders or are complaining about something.

I think I've found a good balance. I started managing very young and by now I know how to handle people. I've basically found if you get good kids, treat them well and they'll treat you well back. I've also tried for a sense of community...don't neglect your tasks because all you're doing is screwing the next person.

Meh maybe, but I have 20+ employees that don't take issue....a few of the employees are friends of my close friends so I have the dirt on what goes on when I'm not around. She worked here last yer under older management that basically cashed out so the stores were not run properly. I come in with all these specific things to do, such as task sheets (which I can't believe didn't exist in a fast food place) and I could tell she was not very happy that she was actually going to have to work.

The folks in the office takes in all the orders and sales and make too many promises to the customers.

They then dump the tasks on the managers and area leads.

We only run one shift and don't have the employees to complete most tasks realistically.

The plant coordinator also has a habit of visiting other companies that do similar work and tries to make ours operate like those places.

But ignores the fact that they're more modern and have like 3x more employees while we're backdated about 20 years.

Thanks man. I chose my words around her very carefully. I'm always super nice and positive it just sucks that someone can be so negative...there were a couple of things like a glitch in payroll and she had to redo her paperwork because of an error, neither of which were my fault. But to someone who doesn't know things, it may appear that I'm the unorganized irresponsible one...idk...oh well. I'm too sensitive for this **** i need a desk job.

I feel like I may run into a similar situation whenever we start transitioning me from massage therapist to clinic manager and pretty much shove current manager out. (She has no motivation, will not go to annual conferences or monthly manager meetings). But she has no clue that I am starting that Transition.

The downside to me becoming manager is less pay than what I'm making now, but the owner will work it out to make sure I get a similar salary to what i currently make.

Our Administration Manager just announced that he's leaving at the end of the month.

Gave his two weeks notice in like anyone else would do.

This other place must have gave him a awesome offer for him to leave after 15 years.

Anyway our Assistant Manager will take lead on the 24th.

He has mixed feelings about it.

I mean this shit came out of left field for everyone.

The ranks are all going to be mixed up as the month goes on.

My gf works as a GM in the fast food industry too. They gave her a problem store that she basically needed to clean house at to make it run properly after a few years of mismanagement. I think she has like 3 of the employees that she started with 2 years ago. But the store went from dead last in cleanliness, profitability, etc. in the region to top 1/3rd in all categories.

Sometimes you just have to get rid of some folks to get results.
