Kojima loves long ass cutscenes (and game trailers) so it wouldnt surprise me if this game has long cutscenes

And yes I have verified MGS4 had a 40 minute cutscenes - 5 minute fight interval - then a additional 50 minutes cutscene with credits

MGS4 had no 90 minute cutscenes. The longest was the ending, which ran for around 60.

There was some article or review that claimed it had multiple cutscenes "dangerously close to the 90 minute mark", which became a meme of sorts but it wasn't true, unless you consider 66% "dangerously close."

Now, 60 minutes is a long cutscene, make no mistake, but also it concluded the story of four games, introduced and resolved a new subplot which was only vaguely foreshadowed beforehand and included the credits so you really can't expect otherwise.

I think you are mistaken

So pretty much 90% of the last 100 minutes of the game is a cutscene

which is two cutscenes (with gameplay in between).

I mean, sure the last 95 minutes was super cutscene-heavy but that's not the same thing.

Speaking of which, looking back turning the blonde hair dude raiden into a cyborg was legit embarrassing, turned the game into an anime

It's a Big Boss origin story. He's kinda important to the overall story.

Raiden was a trainwreck of a character to begin with, and MGS2 does heavily imply that he's gonna go off and be some completely different character, with the sword being his motivation.

So while it totally caught me off-guard, when I thought about it, I felt like I should have been expecting it.

That said, making him both the series edgelord and the series emo was dumb, as were his goofy heels, his breakdance fighting and that moronic scene where he stops Outer Haven instead of just pushing that piece of the dock down with his super strength, or, you know, picking up Snake and running off, which would have been a lot easier.

That said, they finally redeemed him with Rising by totally embracing his narm and putting a goofy twist on it lol.

Plus, he was also playable as a cyborg (or something?) in Substance's VR missions.

Oh god dont remind me about raiden cyborg lol

For such a grounded character in mgs2 and turning him in a ninja cyborg doing flips with a sword? Fucking hell makes me hate myself for even liking the game and telling everyone to play it back in the day -

I remember back when MGS2-3 were current, everybody hated Raiden. Then when 4 launched, all the sudden everybody "always loved Raiden even in MGS2."

I dunno, maybe it was just the vocality of those opinions that changed but either way I felt like the only one in the world who liked Raiden in 2 (though he definitely had to grow on me) and hated him in 4 lol.

Looking back, he was bad in both and only Rising has a decent Raiden, almost entirely because he is a parody of himself.

HD collection is backwards compatible on the Xbox One. I believe that's the only way to play 3 with current gen hardware.

Yeah I do remember people hating mgs2 raiden but loving MGS4 terminator raiden

I was the opposite, I mean, I guess with call of duty 4 just coming out, I think MGS4 single handily made me grow up to only like grounded real games than some techno mech wacky anime girls in skin tight clothing you can have photo shoots with games
