I've heard people praise this game for years and years and years but never played it. In my defense, I never owned a PS2. It's been rereleased for quite a few consoles recently, including the Switch which I own, so maybe I'll get it at some point. Having said THAT, I really hate the idea of buying a virtual game. Seriously. In maybe 9 our of 10 cases, this is a dealbreaker for me. I have to want a game VERY badly to bother getting it online.

Thoughts on Okami, then?

It's a fantastic game. Though some people say it's a little dated now, but really, if you can play a Gamecube era Zelda game, you can play Okami.

I'm replaying it right now (Switch version), and I think it holds up very well (though I'm starting to see the weakness in the combat).

It's a pretty long game, with a lot of side content as well. Don't come in expecting a challenging experience though, rather, come in for a big adventure with interesting mechanics.

The rereleases are basically identical to the original version, though with graphical enhancements and options.On the Switch version you can use the Joy-Cons for motion controls for the brush mechanic, which is what I prefer, but you can stick with the traditional method (which I feel is a bit slower but more precise than the motion controls).

This is near spot-on for how I feel about it also. Not saying it isn't enjoyable, but it wears itself out before the conclusion for sure in my opinion.

If you haven't played Okami yet, you really should. It's a really great game.
It just has a strange sense of "this is still going?" for pretty much the whole time.

How does the Switch version look? As good as a modern release, or weaker?

How many hours to beat the game, and how many to 100% it?

The painted aesthetic kinda keeps the actual fidelity of the graphics from making much difference. Chances are even the original PS2 release doesn't look too bad compared to the PC version.

A bit like Windwaker, it doesn't look visually dated because of the art style. I mean look at this

Oh nice!! I never played Windwaker, tbh I only ever played OOT and Majora's Mask but I loved those games. I own Okami HD on PC but never really took the time to look into it. So thankful for this topic.

I love okami but do think it has aged a lil bit but it's still really fun so w/e.

Tbh I don't think it's more than superficially similar to zelda either
