I'm sure they'll make a bunch of changes, but if FFVII Part 1 ends on the Midgar exit, then the final boss would be pretty anticlimactic.

Sorta think they should go all the way to at least the flashback in Kalm village

I mean, a lot of the new stuff they add will probably be fluff that just adds to the runtime and doesn't contribute to the story in any meaningful way for the most part, kind of like all the hunts and stuff in recent FF games.

We know so little about the game, but I hope it's safe to assume that if gameplay changes are introduced in later parts, they'll be integrated in the previous ones.

The parts will be much longer not because of more content, but because the RPG gameplay will have many more time sinks and grinding. RPG design has changed a lot and you can get a lot of gameplay repetition out of few areas nowadays.

I hope they really lean into Shinra being the main antagonist at least for the early episodes, a giant militaristic corporation killing the planet for profit is much more compelling and topical villain than Sephiroth

they probably won't though, and will probably continue to not get what made FFVII interesting aside from the technical aspects

they'll make the voiced dialog and cutscenes unskippable. THATS how they'll pad out the game, it takes longer to say something than to read it!

Especially if they make everything speak like Yuna with pauses in every sentence

Im in if they stretch out Midgar. That was easily the best part of the game.
