The game has a lot of personality and charm as expected of Luigi's Mansion, but in general it just looks so damn fun. They showed off a movie set stage of sorts where you solve 4 sets of puzzles based on various genres of films, and by the end, you fight a boss in a classic Tokusatsu set piece that requires you to use Gooigi to take down a fire breathing boss together.

Luigi also has this sick slam down move akin to Hulk smashing Loki into the ground. You can also slam ghosts onto other ghosts, and the ghosts that get slammed down is basically crying for mercy. They also bring that suction cup thing that Luigi had in Smash U. You can shoot it towards certain surfaces, including shields that ghosts might be carrying and just wrench it away. Gooigi also acts a lot like a totem. Whoever you're not controlling can just keep doing the action you were doing before swapping controls, which was used to beat a boss that would overpower a single Luigi.

I'm pretty excited tbh. I think there's a lot they can do with that core gameplay

I'm glad there's more to the combat now. A few moves/options seems like just what the game needed. At least, that's how I felt after playing the first game. Still haven't played the second yet.

it's basically dark moon 2 but without the annoying mission structure. which is really good. and with some actual unique ghosts

i just personally don't like the more cartoony look of it and dark moon. i prefer the more realistic, lighting-focused Victorian mansion look

i also miss the way sucking up ghosts worked in the original. mainly just the scramble tug-of-war type chaos that it looked like, but dark moon undoubtedly had better puzzles still did a lot of things right (besides those bosses, good fucking lord)
