I was waiting for someone to save one so I could get the other... I was actually going to ask if that happened you could get GLT but figured it would all go down too fast.

And it did!

I don't know if I love or hate that the end of rounds usually have a massive quiet period and then sometimes a random flurry at the end. Certainly makes it a bit more tense.

Still not seen GLT and I really should cause I'll probably like it. Think I'll begin Monday. It was only one of four from today I haven't watched any of: Higurashi will be started whenever it goes out, and Eureka and Proxy which I'll likely skip based on my tastes. There's another ten or so I never finished, caught up with or watched beyond the first season, too. It'll probably remain that way too.

Also, Toradora squeaking through by three seconds... Was fully expecting three of mine out in a row.

I remember voltch saying once (maybe after it was eliminated last year?) that people might think that it was another idol group anime, just based on the title. Which is honestly what I thought. Then when I read the plot synopsis it sounded right up my alley.

I've had Ergo Proxy in my possession since April 2007 apparently, damn. One of many series I picked up back then and just never got around to watching... I should probably poll the anime discussion topic folks on what to tackle first.

GLT and Ergo Proxy are both worth watching. Just pick whichever you're in the mood for first.

And yes, more people should watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

I vaguely remember LotGH being good but I watched it a long time back and it took me ages to get through. Difficult to binge watch iirc at a time when that was the only way I consumed series, although I'm fairly sure I got through it all.

Will report back on GLT, should be finished around the time this series returns from the short break since I have all the time in the world right now. If anyone has anything else to recommend, 'specially based off what you've seen me save so far (or just anything, really) please go ahead! I have about 3 months with more free time than I'll get til I die and my 300 long watch list won't add to itself.

I have one but it's not at all up to date and would probably be less helpful if I gave you it.

Just a few things on taste: not a massive ecchi fan although I can deal with it. I prefer focus on characters and their development rather than a necessarily unique story or world. Not big on mecha or historical settings. I tend to love mystery or drama with lots of twists, and romance stuff. That's definitely not a limit since I can't think of a genre I most things from. Slice of life is probably my favourite genre but only if there's an actual plot and character development. Not really sure what to categorise that as, might be drama but I'm thinking more the low stakes kind (most KyoAni stuff, for example) I like me some super fluffy SoL too, but I can't watch a lot of that as easily, it's more a one before bed sorta thing and there's plenty of that I'm currently going through.

Hyouka's the only 10 I currently have but some 9s include K-On, Hibike Euphonium, Hinamatsuri, Toradora and Madoka. My 7s and 8s have more action, promise. Oh, and I didn't watch almost anything during 2014-2017 so anything seasonal that was solid from there would be a good shout, since I've mostly just caught up on things that are more popular from that timeframe.

tl;dr I like mystery, drama and romance, and less fluffy SoL. Particularly character focused. I probably haven't seen anything released between 2014-2017 if it wasn't quite popular so that might be a good place to start.
