The 26-year-old has MRKH syndrome - a rare condition which leaves the reproductive system underdeveloped.

I knew something wasnt right when I didnt get my menstrual cycle by the age of 16, she said.

I started seeing doctors and they told me it was maybe because I was underweight or had a lack of vitamins etc. They didnt give any treatment, just some vitamins to take.

I was devastated and confused. I didn't understand it fully and I wasnt ready to. It really seemed unfair and it brought me down for a long time.

MRKH (Mayer-Rokitansky-Kster-Hauser) syndrome affects only one in 5,000 women - so it's super rare.

Although it's not life-threatening, Sabine says that it is life-changing.

She's had to go to therapy to help her deal with the mental ramifications of her diagnosis.

It means that unless she has surgery, she'll never be able to have sex.

Word got out about my case to people I didnt want knowing I guess you cant really trust some friends," she said.

So a lot of men started throwing around comments like you don't need to worry about protection or girls would say, whew, youre lucky you don't get period pains.

It was all the stuff people think will cheer you up but it really doesnt."

She said that her condition has also affected her ability to form relationships.

When I was meeting new people and they found out, they would run away thinking Im too much to handle.

But Sabine has a supportive partner who she hopes to marry soon.

Her vaginal canal is too narrow so a surgeon is going to have to cut it open for her to first use dilators before she's able to have sex.

With her engagement on the horizon, Sabine is planning to get the ball rolling soon.

Im planning to do it soon, most probably in the coming month as we are planning an engagement soon.

The process of using dilators will then take several months to make the canal a bit wider.

But there are some things that no surgeon can help with.

Sabine will never be able to carry a baby.

The news to me was heartbreaking and unfair, she said.

But there are other ways of her becoming a mum.

There is the option of surrogacy, since the ovaries are still there, so we can get a surrogate to carry the child.

Another option is to have the full uterus transplant but its new and still in the testing phase, I believe, with only a few successful cases.

The third option is adoption.

In Dubai, surrogacy is still illegal and Sabine can't have a transplant because her vaginal canal is still incomplete.

So adoption looks like it might be the most likely option.

There are options like this which would feel good if YOU were to have sex with her. Well I would say it's rare but not super rare personally.

1% or less = rare
.01% or less = super rare
.0001% or less = extremely rare

Obviously this is not a scientific measure but I think it fits as a general approximation of what people mean in relation to diseases and stuff.

Once you apply the percentage to the entire population there's still the distribution that you'd have to consider. Well, I was more or less pushing towards the fact that more places are densely populated than others. I have no way of knowing how evenly distributed this can be worldwide, but places with larger populations would have have a higher number of women affected I imagine. Just because there's nothing that specifically causes it, as far as I know, that doesn't mean it's distributed equally throughout the world.
