I hate the "You're forced to change your password every X months" thing more. I've had passwords for over a decade that served me well, making me switch it up constantly makes it hard to remember. So I use easier to remember passwords that are likely easier to crack.

You could just use the same old password and add a number on the end

The most memorable way to secure passwords with symbols is to pad them. !!!password123!!! for instance.

My work password resets once a month for security reasons and it's the dumbest shit. I've been with the company for 3 years and you cannot reuse any of the old passwords. That's at least 36 fucking passwords I've had to use for my work account.

Then they tell you to write down your password lol like that's fucking secure?

This but worse imo. Ours has to change every 6 months but we can't use the last 10. That's 5 years of having to use different passwords.

God I want fingerprint ID/badge swipe tech everywhere in the workplace if it meant never entering another password again.

Starbucks is the worst:

-capital and lower case
-number
-special character
-all previous passwords banned

And no showing the password being typed, with no confirmation input.

I've been at my job seven months now. I've had to change my passwords three times. Passwords plural, because I have a windows login, login to clock in, login to access work files, login to access training, login to look up client information, and login for email.

Every one is a separate password. Every one has different rules. None of the passwords are the same. All change every few months.

It's. Fucking. Hell.

That's exactly what I do.

And that's why that rule ends up making passwords far less secure
