I'm not sure what I'd put as my favorite VGM of all time, but I Just Smile is a definite contender. It feels like the exact opposite of what I'm supposed to love (I don't want to know how many times I've complained about songs being too happy in recent memory), but everything about the song just works for me. From the choice of imagery to the rather imperfect English translation which makes it feel like it's being sung by someone who has some difficulty with her word choices, it just works for me completely.

Going to the backlog for a minute, "Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth - CORROSION"'s link is broken as the account was closed. Song isn't hard to find, so I just used this link instead for rating purposes:

I forgot about Cannon Fodder since I never played the game and think I only heard about it through a Cracked article quite some time ago. Kongo Jungle is somewhat interesting. I strongly disliked the first two verses, but the third (starting at close to the two minute mark) is a highlight of this topic. I don't even know what genre of music that is, but that loud distorted voice makes me want to give it a nine... but then I can't go quite that high on a song that I only really loved 1/4th of, so I went with seven & a half with an explanation. Seemed to make sense at the time I'm posting this.
