it's on CNN right now. apparently a cop killed a black man in the town Pete is mayor of. and this turned into a threat to his president run. some people tried to call Pete racist cause of something a cop did. just cause Pete didn't fire the cop. but Pete probably can't just do that at the snap of a finger without problems popping up. no matter what, someone will be mad.

I think it's kind of bullshit how hard people are on Pete overall. He's handled a lot really well overall. Sure, he has problems (namely his pretty flat policies which just feel like carbon copies of other policies with nothing that really stands out), but people are determined to paint him as a racist asshole, which seems completely untrue.

people are fucking pissed at Pete. they keep shouting and yelling over each other and him. he's doing the best he can. I'm not quite sure why they are so mad. he literally is saying he will do everything to fix the problems. and he agrees with them. yet they scream at him. I don't know what they want

this is this elections version of when the 2 black ladies stole the mic from Bernie Sanders during a Bernie rally

if anyone has a weapon in one hand and making threatening gestures with it. cops have a right to shoot to "disarm the situation" regardless of skin color but deadly force is only needed as a last resort (when non-lethal) wouldn't work.

Pete's a piece of crap politician and yeah, his zoning policies have a racist element to them given how they displaced predominantly black neighborhoods.

But mayors protecting excessive use of force by police is basically a given in any city with a population large enough to merit the title "city" so getting on him about this is pretty underwhelming.

A shooting happened where Pete is the mayor. An officer was responding to someone breaking into vehicles. When the officer tried to make contact, the suspect came at him with a knife and the officer shot.

I dont get it. It's like they want people do just do whatever they want without any repercussions.

I often jump on cops but if this is true, this shooting may be justified this time
