apolloooo 06/24/19 11:29:44 AM #1:	finally played them. don't know if i will play the original. don't feel like emulating or whatever. pirate curse is the best so far. shantae relying on her human ability (except whatever her hair is) and risky's gadgets are a cool concept. the world is cool and dungeons are fun. half genie hero feels like one step forward, 2 steps backward. they dumbed down the hubs, made it less metroidvania-y and more like megaman but with the same backtracking that only work 1 way instead of a "world hub" and "dungeon" for each area. reduced NPC count too and dumbed down heart pieces things, sequin town feel less fun. mechanically it's really good. the boss battles are best in the series, the HD graphics looks great, while the story is never its strong suit, the characters are still fun, but the number of interactions are greatly reduced. in the old games you could visit and should different NPCs from different hubs to complete quest or story, now aside from rottytop's brothers, most of the NPC you need come into the town and just go. transformations are back and there are alot more features. they are fun. if 1/2 genie hero kept the hub world instead of "levels" it would be the best game in the series. risky's revenge is fun, but it's really nothing remarkable. i like it enough to want to try the other games in the series, but compared to pirate's curse and 1/2 genie hero, it's nothing too remarkable IMO. --- http://i.imgtc.com/iJyp6bF.png http://i.imgtc.com/ZBw36Qh.png Thanks for the peeps that made the pics <3 if i make typos it means i am on phone <cite>apolloooo posted [p:923772885] in Pirate's c... Difficulty was needlessly high, enemies are too damn tanky and moving around is a chore, transforming into stuff gets old fast when you have to keep switching forms. Music and graphics were pretty good for the most part.
