We mostly just have patterns to base estimates on, but there are quite a few 'experts' and whales who say different things about the market. Some sincerely think to know what they're talking about, some try to influence people to buy/sell in a manner to benefit their own investment (and some just say whatever in order try to make a living of million+ views). This creates a lot of what could be called manipulation (or simply uninformed guessing). From what I've seen in the past few years, it's best to learn the signs for yourself. Observe the patterns, both in the graphs and in the media. It's interesting to note that volatility has actually been decreasing over the years.
