A lot of people think his Sequelitis videos are kind of bullshit in hindsight. Never watched it myself, but apparently a lot of his OoT complaints are the result of him being terrible at the game.

Well Arin wants every dollar he can get, less because he needs it and more because he's greedy and incompetent at managing his money, as evidenced by how many friends he has on the GG payroll without doing much of anything. I mean, we're talking the same guy who once gave his Uber referral code at the top of a Mario Maker episode so he could get tons of free rides. Also I haven't seen today's stream yet (quite frankly the only reason I'm even giving it the time of day is because it's Undertale), but during the last one he was legitimately pissed they weren't getting as many super chat donations as usual.

I'm sure the YouTube/advertiser crap takes a fair share of the blame, but I suspect trying to make the show family-friendly all of a sudden is just going to drive away a good chunk of their (somehow remaining) fanbase and hurt them a lot more in the long run.

I only dislike that one a little bit because mostly because of the jab at Skyward Sword, personally. The Mega Man and Castlevania ones are really good imo.

It has been a few years since I watched them so idk maybe they are that bad.

This is such a bullshit understanding of Game Grumps.

1) Of course they care about money. They employ a bunch of people, run 3 different companies at once, and are responsible for all of those employee's making money. To suggest "Youtubers" shouldn't care about making money is ridiculous.

2) It was clearly a joke by Arin in regards to how much they were making on the livestream. Don't try to misrepresent him. There is likely a bit of truth in it, mainly because they likely have a deal with Youtube that means they CAN'T stream on Twitch, where they would likely be able to make more money per stream.

3) They have been talking about trying to curb the cursing for a LONG time now, especially with doing live shows. Editing out the swearing in the first minute is just something that helps with the algorithm, again because if they start being demonetized that means all those they employ will be affected.

Not long ago they did a really killer Majora's Mask lets play where airin acted really uninterested for the first 10 episodes, then had a mental breakdown about not liking the game and spent the rest of it crying about it or not paying attention.

I'm not generally one to be all "OMG THIS STREAMER/YOUTUBER SUCKS AT GAMES BECAUSE HE'S NOT PLAYING THIS GAME I KNOW WELL" but seriously, Arin's the only dude I know that could actually die in a 3D Zelda that isn't BotW, and do so more than once or twice...

Honestly Game Grumps is big enough now they could easily go into business for themselves but Arin is too lazy so if they want to keep it casual they have to capitulate.

And honestly the show was really never that good. It's had some good highlights but the full vids are boring as hell. I'll never understand how people can sit and listen to them drone on about their latest convention, live show, or their last vacation. If it wasn't for Arin's occasional breakdown or the rare occurrence Dan lands a joke there'd be nothing to watch. And don't even get me started on the rest of their crew.

I liked them back in the Jon days, but I dont necessarily miss that. Especially awkward looking back on how often Jon got away with saying the N-word.
