Inconvenient truth came out in 2006 and it sparked a lot of discussion of climate change. A few years later and it wasn't really a hot topic. Was it just because of the financial crisis dominating people's attention?

It only really started getting attention again a couple of years ago, maybe in 2015 or 2016.

Because even if no measures at all were taken to stop it, it would still take thousands of years to actually have an effect.

It was only the past few years that liberals decided to make it a political issue, claiming with no evidence that the world will end in a couple of years if we don't outlaw eating meat.

So not only are you uninformed as to proper timelines (protip: it's not thousands of years long, nor is it as quick as a couple of years for "catastrophic" effects) but you also are not in tune with the correct stance your opposing ideology holds. Great. How's the weather in the sand where you keep your head tucked in?

People in Australia winging over their last election claimed the planet would not survive a single term of conservative government.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez just issued a statement a short while back about the world ending in seven years.

Former VP Al Gore said there would be no snow on Mt Everest by 2015. Record snowfall on Mt Everest in 2016.

I am fully aware of the liberal take on climate change.

Politicians are disingenuous about things all the time. Not excusing it, but it's not exclusive to liberals.

Try reading actual peer reviewed studies on climate change and projections according to up to date models if you want an informed opinion on the topic. I'm not going to take face value campaigning as valid on either side of the political spectrum.
