markconigliaro 07/04/19 3:08:32 PM #20:	I worked at Dairy Queen for 4-5 years (ended in 2012 I think), the curl at the top of cones/cups and turning blizzards upside down are signatures of DQ, so they want everyone to do it. I didn't do it often because we were a small place of 3 people and no one cared, but also no one ever called us out on it. I think this free blizzard thing might be new, because customers sure as hell would have demanded a free blizzard if we didn't do it, but no one did. Some people did joking say "you didn't turn it upside down" and I would grab it and give it a pretty hard shake, they would always jump back and laugh. When making blizzards/cones, you will know if it's stable enough to stay put so there is no risk at all for us. On busy days the ice cream machine couldn't freeze ice cream fast enough so it wasn't as thick as normal, but usually enough to hold itself up. Some days when the machine is not cooperating, there's no way it'll stay up, so that's usually a sign to tell the customers that the ice cream is going to take a few minutes to freeze properly.
