Doom_Art 07/05/19 12:03:52 AM #12:	Most of the major characters get a "what's up" with them too - Rick has statues built and a whole mythic aura around him - Maggie is President of the Commonwealth - Eugene works on the frontier setting up infrastructure and railroads - Michonne is a judge on what I assume is the Commonwealth equivalent of the Supreme Court - Carl is a runner? I think? He works outside the safe zones. - Maggie and Glenn's son runs a traveling freak show where he shows off zombies - Negan is... somewhere? - Jesus and Aaron are both chilling out being cool - Lauren or whatever is a mercenary and still bitter about Rick killing Dwight - Lydia married Connor and while it's not clear what she does it's similar to what Carl does --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. Very sudden in that I didn't see it coming at all, but it fits and was a satisfying conclusion. After the end of the issue, where they'd usually print fan mail in this issue it was just a whole section where Kirkman explains why he chose to end it how he did. Basically he explains that he had had this particular ending in mind as something for him to work towards for several years now. Around issue 142 or something he said he remembers being shocked that that's where he was now and that he was moving way more quickly than he intended. He tried a bunch of ways to tweak the story so it'd pad things out a bit but eventually he decided he was ready to end it and didn't want to stretch things out further than they needed to be. They learn to safely herd giant herds of thousands to the ocean and such. They establish safe routes between communities and have people on horses patrol those areas. Small groups get taken out by the patrols. Large herds get spotted in time due to the patrols and are diverted to their end. The large hordes of wild zombies probably just died out from decomposition. 2. What remains of society was likely proficient enough at dealing with zombies and established clearly what sorts of precautions were needed to stay the threat of zombification. Ultimately, it just doesn't appear to be explained explicitly. What caused the outbreak? How exactly was the threat definitively overcome? Not answered.
