I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and think they're mocking those people, but I'm probably give them too much credit. While part of me hopes that the movie tanks for this stupid decision, I know that Lin-Manuel is doing the music so it's still going to be AMAZING, no matter who they cast as Ariel.
