I'm trying to remember a single level design element from BL2 so I can comment on whether or not it was good, and I'm genuinely struggling. All I'm remembering is that elevator you have to activate in one of the first areas so Claptrap can progress past the stairs, which I can't say I feel particularly strongly about. Given this, I'm going to have to say no. It's certainly not bad, just not remarkable enough to have left a memorable impression on me.

Having just played through the game last month - hell no it doesn't. Also, found myself lost many times due to quest objectives being completely vague.

You mean the same design that has you run miles just to get to the next fight? The same one that has little to no good cover? The same one that has some of the most obvious spawn rooms?
I can't fathom thinking BL2 has even half decent level design, let alone the best in years. ... Copied to Clipboard!

"Best level design" completely depends on the genre of game. Dark souls 1 has probably one of the best designed "levels" of any game that I've played, though(dark souls 3 and bloodborne are up there as well).
Mario 3d world has great level design as well. As do the Galaxy games. --- . ... Copied to Clipboard!
